Bobby Heugel opened Anvil in 2009 with his partners, almost entirely building the bar themselves just like Anvil’s cocktails. Anvil has received ten James Beard nominations in addition to being named among the world’s best bars by World’s 50 Best, and it is generally considered to have one of the best bartender training programs globally. Regardless of acclaim, Anvil remains humbly tucked in Houston's beloved Montrose neighborhood, focused on creating a Houstonian cocktail experience that is as popular as ever.
